A new layer of paint will give your house an entirely new appearance; however, it's possible to make a few mistakes during the process, particularly when painting trims around windows.
When dried-out paint particles forming on your windows are obstructing the view of your home, do not fret! It's not difficult to know how to clean paint off windows without damaging the glass.
There are many tried and tested techniques that can be used to get rid of the glass's paint. It is possible to eliminate tiny splotches with white vinegar or hot soapy water. However, larger or more stubborn spots of paint could require the use of a razor blade.
To get the best results, begin by using a technique that will soften and break up the paint. Follow the steps until you're able to remove every trace of paint from your window.
Make sure you have the following items in your kit:
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar to the measuring glass, then microwave it for between 30 and 60 minutes. With gloves on to shield your hands, take a sponge or cloth into hot vinegar. Saturate the spots of paint, then apply elbow grease to break them up. The vinegar won't completely remove the spots; however, it will soften the spots. (Avoid using dish scrubbers that are abrasive or sharp steel wool that is likely to scratch glass.)
If the paint cannot be removed with vinegar, then immediately put 1-1/2 tablespoons dish soap into the bucket, then fill it with warm water. (It is recommended to do this prior to it having dried.) Make use of a sponge or a cloth to scrub the area back and forth, or in an arc. In certain situations, this could suffice to remove all the paint off your windows.
If the paint spots persist in the area, you can use a razor to clean them away. Select a new razor - old or dull ones demand greater force and are more likely to scratch. Keep the razor at 45 degrees, and then gently scrape only in one direction. Slowly work, trying to push the razor's edge fully beneath the edge of the splotch of paint. Make sure you keep rewetting the spots of paint with soapy water in order to keep the razor clean and reduce the possibility of scratching.
After all the paint is gone, spray the glass with window cleaner, then wipe dry with a newspaper or a towel.
